President of Poland to Polish scouts

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Scouting,

I send my kindest regards and warm wishes to you for the time of the 23rd World Scout Jamboree, which is taking place in Japan. I am proud that such a large group of young Poles represents our country during this great event. Jamboree presents the power of the idea of General Robert Baden-Powell.

This Jamboree is the opportunity to feel a great global community of Scouts. This is also the opportunity to establish many new friendships with people from other countries and continents. And finally, this is the opportunity to experience the incredible adventure that you will remember for a lifetime. However, we need to remember what always said Chief Scout of the World: “First patriotism – then fun”. I ask you to be the best ambassadors of Poland. Your attitude, ability to speak about our country, its heroes, history, culture and traditions could make that many people will speak well of Poland for many years.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Scouting! In the times when it is said that only money and convenience count, you show that there are plenty of young people in different countries who prioritize serving of the Lord God, the country and another human. This is precisely the power of more than one hundred years of Scouting.

Once again, I wish you a wonderful Jamboree and truly support the idea of organizing this event in our country, where the idea of Scouting stays strong for over a century. As the President of the Republic of Poland I declare to you that I will take care about the community of Scouting in Poland and beyond its borders.

Yours in Scouting,
Andrzej Duda, President of The Republic of Poland
