This week delegation of the Korea Scout Association and Jeollabuk-do Province visited Poland to share experience in bidding for the 2023 World Scout Jamboree.
Korean delegation leaded by Mr. Hyoung Kyu Lee, Deputy Governor of the Jeollabuk-Do Provincial Government visited Warsaw – the capital of Poland and the City of Gdansk.
Welcome dinner in the residence of the H.E. Ambassador of the South Korea was the first official point of the visit. The highest representatives of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP), including Ms. Malgorzata Sinica, Chief Scout and Mr. Zbigniew Niemczycki, Chairperson of the Bid Organizing Committee were presented. Main points of a polite conversation covered cultural and economical similarities and differences between South Korea and Poland, motivation of both scouts associations to host the World Scout Jamboree and technical deliberations on the site selection.
At the end of the dinner the declaration of friendship and fair-play competition was agreed.
On Saturday morning Korean delegation together with the members of the Polish Jamboree 2023 Project Team and representatives of the Gdansk Mucipal Office visited Sobieszewo Island in Gdansk, our proposition for the 2023 World Scout Jamboree site and historical Old Town.
Our guests also visited the European Solidarity Centre to discover the history of political and social transformations in Poland and Europe in the end of 1980s.
It was a great pleasure for us to host the Korean delegation in Poland and to talk on the exciting 2023 World Scout Jamboree Bid.
