Bayern Munich’ striker was chosen as the one of the 30 footballers from all around the world nominated to Ballon d’Or award for 2016. Lewandowski is the only Pole who has a chance to receive this award. This year is very important for Polish striker who is very effective in offensive playing.
“France Football” Magazine has been awarding the prize of Ballon d’Or since 1956, while from 2010 to 2015 the Magazine and FIFA was awarding the best football player together. From this year the plebiscites are conducted separately. The winner will be announced on 13th December.
The other nominees are: Sergio Aguero (Argentina / Manchester City FC), Gianluigi Buffon (Italy / Juventus), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal / Real Madrid CF), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden / Manchester United FC) and Andres Iniesta (Spain / FC Barcelona).
