Attend the Polish Scouts’ PR LAB and be ready to create a better image of Scouting

Say a word. Take a picture. Register a moment. Draw something… but digitally! Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego (ZHP, the National Scout Organisation in Poland) has started a series of workshops addressing the question of how to communicate in the 21st century.

A reliable Internet connection, software package, a group of specialists, hundreds of gigabytes and a lot of fun! That’s all you need to conduct a PR LAB workshop. The ideal setting for Scouts to learn how to use new technologies in a direct, intentional way aimed at presenting the essence of Scouting.

Between 2014 and 2015 the Polish Scout and Guide Association conducts a series of communication trainings for Rover Scouts and Leaders. Participants discover and develop new skills like movie and television making, graphic design, developing and maintaining public relationships, creating and administrating social media channels and photography. During a PR LAB Scouts also meet external specialists, conduct an interview with local media or discover interesting places normally closed for visitors.

The most recent PR LAB – the 10th edition – was held in Warsaw. More than 60 participants came together, aged between 15 to 65 years old – the best proof that the use of modern today’s communication technologies can be learned by everybody! Altogether, the series of PR LABs will reach some 500 Rover Scouts and Leaders across Poland, who will all be equipped to better contribute improving the image of Scouting in the country.
